Sleeveless Gown Posted 12.5.08
I have an Ivory/Cream colored sleeveless wedding gown. The bodice
has bead and sequense detailing all around it, and some of the same
detailing around the bottom edge of the gown. It has a small to
medium size train, and it also comes with a sheer shawl with the
same sequense detailing on the corners. The dress says size 14,
but fits more like a street size 8 to 10. The bodice fits more of
a smaller busted woman. There is no designer tag in the dress, but
is very beautiful. I am only asking $400 for the gown.
You can contact me by email the easiest at repeatthatplease@yahoo.com.
I am attaching a couple of pictures of the gown so that you can
see it. I was not certain if you post pictures with the ad. Thank
you so much for your time and help.
Sincerely,
Lisa Morrison |

I have a gorgeous (appliqued see-thru
lace with many tasteful, individually hand sewn precious small pearls) Wedding
dress. Posted 7.14.08
The style embellishes a high neck, bell sleeves and high bodice in traditional
antique beige silk organza. It is high waisted, with a complimentary and
gracefully full length gown. The appliqued lace and pearls follow the theme.
It is size 7 and has been professionally cleaned, protected and stored since
1972! It is a magnificent and expensive, high quality dress from famous
Woodward & Lothrop in Wash., DC. This dress was worn in insurmountable
happiness and carries with it wonderful karma. Elisabeth laniwolf@hotmail.coml |

How we found our perfect wedding dress! |
| |
| Finding the Perfect
Wedding Dress - Think Outside The "Big Box" Stores! |
 |
| Our Experience: |
| |
My wife and I were married in 2005, and we knew we are
going to have an outdoor, desert wedding. My wife and
I are not 'traditional' by any means, so a full-length,
white wedding dress wasn't very appealing to us. The process
of finding the perfect wedding dress was honestly, to
me, one of the most stressful parts of the whole wedding
planning process. Our first stop was to go to the local
mall. We went to several shops, including J. Jill, Dillards,
and Macy's. Nothing appealed to us at any of these places.
Either the dresses were too expensive, or they just didn't
fit our theme or taste. We then started thinking about
used dresses, and where to find them. At the time, ebay
was a good place to start. We see nothing wrong with buying
a used wedding dress, and we also are ok with people who
sell their wedding dress. After all, you really are only
going to wear it once, right? Why not 'recycle' it and
let someone else get some more mileage out of it?
We were having some success with finding dresses online,
but we wanted to do a little more looking. Then, one day,
I was walking down the street downtown in our city, and
there was one of those Himalayan "Beads / Hippie"
shops. I happened to glance in the window, and there it
was - our wedding dress. Who would have thought that a
store like this would have the perfect wedding dress for
us? It was also priced just right. I was so excited that
I called my wife and she came down immediately. She tried
it on, and amazingly it fit almost perfectly right off
of the rack. She is a tall girl, so we were both very
surprised. It was a dress made in India, and is pictured
to the left, and above. It was a sleeveless dress, which
was perfect for our desert wedding. The pattern on it
was beautiful, and it had lots of sparkly beads and stones
on it.
As mentioned above, this dress was purchased at the Crystal
Dragon (303) 786-8455. I can't say
that they will still have this same dress today, but they
might! The point we're trying to make here is to not focus
only on the bigger "big box" department stores
and retailers. Often times you will find the very standard
or traditional wedding items at these places, but not
something really unique to your personality. Many of the
Tibetan/Himalayan stores that can be found in most bigger
towns have more 'exotic' types of dresses and clothing.
You might even be able to find a local seamstress or dressmaker
in your town that can create a dress for you from scratch.
Who knows, you may even get it for cheaper than you would
have if you were to pay retail for it!
Remember, if you have a wedding dress for sale, we will
post it on this page for free! Just contact
us for details!

| Suggestions for the
Wedding Dress Shopper: |
 |
1) Look at your hometown's local shops
2) Ask local sewing/seamstress businesses if they can recommend
someone to create a custom dress or bridal gown for you
3) Look online. Ebay is a great place to start
4) Keep checking this page
5) Keep in mind the weather and time of year of your wedding
location
6) Will you be able to find shoes and accessories to match
your dress?
7) Start early, have fun, and leave no stone unturned
8) "Cheap Wedding Dress" doesn't necessarily mean
cheap looking. Bargains can be found! |
